Default In tracking changes, can I edit the insertion date?

I would like to remove or edit the insertion date on a tracked change in my
document, without removing the change/insertion. I can open the reviewing
pane and highlight the month but when I tpye in a new month I get: "The
command is not available becuse the document is loced for edit." Help does
not show me how to get around that message. Thanks!!

I'm not sure this is a practice to be condoned, although it can be done. The
whole point of tracking changes is too see who did what when.

But the fact that the document is locked for editing is going to stop you
anyway - it means someone else has the document open for edit, doesn't it?
