Default Formatting vertical alignment in individual columns

I need to vertically align some columns in a word document I have, but I need
align them separately. As it is, if I try to set vertical alignment in page
setup it does the alignment for the entire page, and not an individual
column. Does anyone know how to do this for a column only?

There is no way to do this for a single column, no.

Insert a column break at each point you need to align a column. You can then
hit "enter" however many times you need to push each individual column down
the page where you need it.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

Although you can fake this with Space Before/After, it may be that the
functionality you're looking for is found in a table rather than
newspaper-style columns; vertical alignment can be selected for individual
columns (cells) in a table.

You could, though, use a two-column table instead of the columns feature.
The alignment in different table cells is independent.
