Default Fonts are displayed as one character.

I have Word2003 installed and my fonts are listed as only one character. If
I look at WordPad the names are listed perfectly. What can I do to correct
this?

Also, when I try to look at "File Properties" the words are in Chinese.
Deleting the normal.dot didn't correct it. Any ideas?
