Unwanted pattern matching
I have a simple document - no (intentional) tables or graphs or paragraphs
or anything. Here's some text. A 8 A- 7 B+ 6 B 5 B- 4 C+ 3 C 2 C- 1 The problem is that when I hit a carrige return after "c- 1", a "D-" is automatically inserted on the next line. If I hit cr after "B- 4", a "C-" is inserted. The "A-" doesn't have this problem. Somewhere a pattern seems to have been established. How can I get rid of this? TIA LAS |

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TameAutoFormat.htm. The most likely
culprits are "Automatic numbering" and "Format beginning of list item like the one before it." -- Suzanne S.
