Default How can I update the footer in section 2 when I protect section 1?

When I protect a section in my Word 2002 document, "Header and Footer" off
the View menu are not accessible.

Hi Reb,

Depends on what you mean by "update".

If you have fields in the footer and you need to make them update
after making some change in the document, go to File Print Preview
and then click Close to go back to the Print Layout view (assuming you
have Update Fields checked in Tools Options Print).

If you're talking about editing the text of the footer, you have to
unprotect the document, make the change, and reprotect the document.
