Default Section footer text

I've broken my document into its logical
sections. I've specified that page numbering
should be continuous from section to section,
which I've done without any problems.
However, I want the footing text to be
different from section to section. How do I
do that?

Whenever I go to a page within a section and
change the footer text, that change propagates
to other sections as well. The HELP text seems
to be saying that that's all I have to do, but it
also seems clear that there's more to it than
that.

Thanks,
Bill
