Default typing delay in Word 2007

Sometimes I get a delay when typing in word 2007. I keep hitting keys but
nothing happens, then all of a sudden the characters I have typed appear on
the screen. It is very confusing and makes it difficult to work. I've seen
other posts with similar problems, but nothing with a solution that would
work for me. I am running Vista home premium and have 3 GB ram so I don't
think memory is a problem. I don't have Outlook or Norton, so those also
aren't the problem. I do have some documents in older versions of Word
(mostly Word 2003), and some Word documents that are very long, but shouldn't
Word be able to handle that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

A lot of times I've found that I have a ton of hidden programs running and
didn't even know it because they were in the task bar. Even with a lot of
ram, running enough of those will eventually slow you down. Have you tried
taking some of those programs down? Otherwise, I would suggest reinstalling
or seeing how much of memory you have on your hard drive. I hope that helps!

Hi Amy..

I think your problem is not with the memory or ram.. I too got the same
problem with my system, but I am using MSWORD 2003. When this problem
occurs, I used to close the main wondow of MSword.... and remove "temporary
files" files in Temp folder how many files I can, and re-open the file again
and start typing... with that the problem was solved. I suggest you to do
the same process. I hope this information will help you upto some extent.

Thanks,
PAVAN
