Default disalignment of "header row(s)" in tables?

there are many users to the document, and at times when I get back into the
document, I notice that the "alignment" and sometimes the "font" in my header
rows are no longer aligned. One maybe "top left" while another will remain
at "center bottom." only way I've been able to correct is inserting another
row and re-typing everything as it should be - is there any relief from this?
