Default Document says it contains acorrupt table but table was deleted, w.

Created a document on word 2000 which contained a couple of tables. After
saving I decided to delete the tables, I highlighted them then pressed the
delete key on the keyboard. Now when I open the document I get an error
message stating that I have a corrupt table even though their are no tables
in the document.. Every time I save this document it grows bigger, even when
I haven't added to it. Please advise. Many thanks

Create a new document. Copy the content from the old excluding the final
paragraph mark. Delete the old. If Word tells you the document has a
corruption, you should believe it.
