If you are talking about horizontal alignment (left, center, right):
this is possible by defining left, center, or right-aligned tabstops.

Default How do you vary alignment within a single line of text?

You have to use tab stops. For an example of how it's done, look at
the Header paragraph (which by default has a center and a right tab
stop). Note that you insert tab characters by pressing the TAB key.
