Default AutoText deletes new entries

I have set up several AutoText entries, but can't seem to figure out what I
did to this one that doesn't make it work properly. When I select an
AutoText from the menu, it inserts it. If I select another one (even if I
space down more), instead of adding it after the initial one I chose, it
deletes my first selection and replaces it with my second selection. What I
have noticed is different on these AutoTexts from others I have created is
that the entire AutoText appears in a shaded grey field. I'm not sure what I
did on this one differently. Any help you can provide would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi ?B?SlN0aWVobA==?=,

Version of Word?

What is in these AutoText entries, besides just text?

Any chance one is being inserted OVER the other (rather than replacing)?

If you press Alt+F9 to toggle the field codes on, do you see something in place
of what was there before? If yes, what, exactly?
