Default AutoCorrect shortcut for Word 2007

In Word 2007, to create an AutoText entry (now known as a Building Block),
you can type the desired text, and press ALT + F3. To use an AutoText entry,
you can type the name for the entry in your document and then press F3.

Is there a similar shortcut to create an AutoCorrect entry? Right now, I'm
drilling down through menus using these steps: Click the Microsoft Office
Button, and click the Word Options button. Click Proofing in the left pane.
In the right pane under AutoCorrect options, click the AutoCorrect Options
button. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoCorrect tab. In the
Replace box, type an abbreviation for the text that will be inserted in place
of the abbreviation. In the With box, type or paste the full entry for the
abbreviation. Click OK twice.

If there isn't a shortcut to create and AutoCorrect entry specifically, is
there a shortcut to get the AutoCorrect dialog box to appear? Thanks in
advance.

You can do one of two things, use Alt+T+A (the Word 2003 accelerator) or add
the AutoCorrect options to your Quick Access Toolbar.

For the latter:

- Click the More button at the end of the QAT (down-pointing arrow)
- Click More Commands
- In the Word Options dialog box, from the "Choose commands from" drop down,
click "Commands not in the Ribbon"
- Locate "AutoCorrect Options" in the list, select it, and then click the
Add button to add it to your QAT
- Click OK to close Word Options and apply the changes.

You're a gem!! Thanks. What exactly is the Word 2003 accelerator? I can't
find anything in help.

Default AutoCorrect shortcut for Word 2007

For most Word 2003 menu commands, the legacy keystrokes ("Word 2003
accelerator keys") were carried over to Word 2007 for those of us with
long-term keystroke habits.

Another option, by the way, is what I use. I long-ago assigned
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C to the ToolsAutoManager command. This brings up the same
dialog as Alt+T A, but I find my own logic easier to remember for this one
than Alt+T A. (I also have Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O, T, K, and others assigned
similar utility menus, which makes the C version part of a pattern I can
easily remember.)

Default AutoCorrect shortcut for Word 2007

The Word 2003 accelerator represents the keys required to select a specific
menu, open it, and select an item on it. In Word 2003, pressing Alt selects
the Menu Bar, T selects the Tools menu, and A selects the AutoCorrect
Options... dialog item on the Tools menu.
