Default Error Message -- Word 2002

I received a Word e-mail attachment. When I try to open it, I get this error:

An error occurred while loading 'ThisDocument'. Do you want to continue
loading this project?

When I click on Yes, the document opens. However, another user tried to
open the same file and when she answered Yes, she got an error report.

Do you know what would cause this

It's generally a bad idea to open Word documents directly from attachments.
Try saving the document to the HD first.

I get the error regardless of whether I open it from the e-mail or save it
and then open it.

Someone has kindly sent you a virus. Fortunately, they're not much of a
coder: their code has failed when it tried to run (possibly because your
antivirus is smarter than they are and has removed it...) :-)

The reference to "Project" is the key: it means the "Visual Basic for
Applications code project contained within the document": in other words,
the container in the document that stores computer code.
