Default I cannot open Word 2002 w/o an error message

Each time I open MS Word 2002, I receive a message, "Microsoft Word has
encounteresd a problem and needs to close....". I have run the repair option
from the CD, uninstalled Office and reinstalled and nothing fixes the
problem. Word is now useless. Can anyone help me? I would be vry grateful!!
