Printing
I have a document that WILL NOT print. It's 17 pages and has a four tables,
some line spacing changes, and a footer. In printers, it shows its spooling. Is the document corrupt? I was able to print 1 page at a time. Hmm. Also, within this same document, a very odd thing happened. I'm used to reveal codes in WordPerfect and so I don't know how to get rid of this problem. On page 15 the top margin seems to have changed to about 3". If I insert returns (or paragraph marks) then the text moves up, as if it's a footer, but it's not. Page set-up, margins, shows the top margin at .75". I've had this problem before, where I've set a top and bottom margin of, say, .5", but the document won't accept the change. Any ideas would be appreciated. -- LISASLEGAL |

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, make sure the vertical alignment is set to
Top, not Center. I'm not sure how this might relate to the printing problem, however. -- Suzanne S. Printing
I'll check when I'm back in the office.
I'm using Word 2007 on a Vista machine. When I opened the doc on a Word 2003 machine, the entire docment was messed up, even though my default save is as a Word 2003 document. I made changes to that file and it printed fine. When I opened it back up on the Vista machine in Word 2007, the document was messed up on that machine. Go figure! Lisa "Suzanne S. When using Word 2007, either you must Save As... Word 97 - 2003 Document or
the Word 2003 user must have the Microsoft compatibility feature installed. "Legallisa" wrote in message ... I'll check when I'm back in the office. I'm using Word 2007 on a Vista machine. The alignment is set to "align to margin." I'm looking in the Page Layout
tab (Word 2007), under the Arrange option. This didn't fix the problem. And I still can't print. If the document is corrupt, can I uncorrupt it somehow? My default save is Word-97-2003. -- LISASLEGAL "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: On the Layout tab of Page Setup, make sure the vertical alignment is set to Top, not Center. I'm not sure where the relevant control is in Word 2007, as I'm not using it
yet, but the equivalent of File | Page Setup in Word 2007 is said to be Page Layout | Page Setup | Page Setup OR Print Preview | Page Setup | Page Setup. If the dialog is the same, you're looking for "Vertical alignment" on the Layout tab. -- Suzanne S.
