Searching Multiple Word Docs
Does anyone know of a resource where I can find out how to search multiple
word docs from a single application... perhaps a VB6 app. The purpose is to improve our helpdesk and we have many solutions as separate word docs. Thanks, Shannon |

Check the vba FAQ at the Word FAQ site (below) and look for the macro to
replace all instances of something in all files in a given folder. That could be a starting place. Otherwise, if you have FrontPage and save your docs as HTML, FP has a very good site-wide search capability. Finally, look into the free Google desktop search engine which you could restrict to a certain folder, I think. This would certainly be the most powerful. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
