Word 2007 Paragraphs
G'Day All,
I need some feedback as to whether other users are experiencing a change in behaviour of Word 2007. In previous versions of Word, it was not possible to position the insertion point to the RIGHT of a paragraph marker. If one positioned the IP just before a ParaMarker and pressed the right arrow key, the IP jumped to the start of the next paragraph (i.e. just in front of the first letter). In Word 2007 pressing the right arrow key moves the IP to just after the ParaMarker, and a second press moves it to the start of the next paragraph. Furthermore, if one saves a WD2007 document as a .doc, previous versions of Word then exhibit the same behaviour - but only for those documents saved as .doc in WD2007. -- Regards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________ |

Word 2007 Paragraphs
This sounds like a bug to me--too weird.

Word 2007 Paragraphs
Hi Suzanne,
It is weird and, for example, impacts the behaviour of the down arrow. As an example, I refer to 'short' paragraphs less than one line. Previously, using down-arrow from the end of a long(er) line positioned the IP before the ParaMarker of the next (shorter) line, and typing was inserted at the end of that line. Now the IP first goes after the ParaMarker, and typing is inserted at the beginning of the following line. -- Regards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________ "Suzanne S. Word 2007 Paragraphs
Hi Pat,
I can't reproduce that behavior. In my 2007 installation, the cursor behaves exactly as it has in all previous versions. Does this happen for you in all files, and especially new documents created from Normal.dotx? If so, what happens if you rename Normal.dotx and let Word recreate it? -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Word 2007 Paragraphs
G'Day Jay,
Thank you for bringing me back to earth!! It is one file. It was created from a new blank file in Word 2007. It was created by copying/pasting a few short paragraphs from an online PDF about local restrictions on water usage. I am unable to reproduce the problem (by repeating the copy/paste). For information/interest, see: http://users.bigpond.net.au/GarardAn...strictions.doc -- Regards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________ "Jay Freedman" wrote in message ...
