Default Mail merge from Excel

I have a database created in Excel 2003 and I open Word 2003 and go to mail
merge and choose Avery label 5160 and then choose the database file (Excel)
and complete the merge. When the merge completes, the top line is indented
by one space. I want the labels to all be left justified.

I have another mail merge setup using another database and it works with no
problems. Everything is left justified like it is supposed to be. I have
been trying to find answers for the last 2 days.

Are you sure that the space is not in the label setup or in the data in the
first merge field on the label? I doubt that it can appear from anywhere
else.

Hope this helps.

No it is definately not in the data. I have made sure that column was left
justified for that reason. And the label setup has not been changed.

Thanks

Are you using the AddressBlock field? If so, do not do that, but just
insert the merge fields that you want to use in the configuration that you
want them.

Yes I was using the Address Block. Since just inserting the fields needed,
it works correctly.

Thanks
