Default Template in Word

I would be grateful for some advice on how to establish a particular template
in Word.

What I wish to do is to have a "header" and a "footer" in the form of a
business name and description (at the top), and address and contact details
(at the bottom), in particular colors and fonts, to form the basis of a
business letterhead when printed on white paper. I want the layout and
positions of the header and footer to remain fixed, when the tempate is
accessed for the purpose of writing a letter, etc., and for them to be
available in that fashion on successive pages, as necessary.

I do have a little experience with making templates, but when I do it with
this concept, I have to adjust the headers and footers every time, depending
on the size and content of the letter.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
With kind regards,
