Default My word document disappears when I open a new one. Why?

Documents used to go to the bottom of the screen and were easy to retrieve.
Now I am left with only the current document showing at the bottom. I am
using Word 2003

Your subject line seems to have nothing to do with the problem you describe.
For an answer to the problem described in the subject line, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm. For the problem
described in your message, make sure that "Windows in Taskbar" is checked on
the View tab of Tools | Options.
