I converted a document from WordPerfect 11.0.0.300 because I just couldn't
stand working with WordPerfect anymore. Conversion went much more smoothly
than it ever has in the past, but I cannot get footnote numbers (body OR
footer) to be superscripted. I cannot find any place on the menu bar to set
automatic superscripting for the footnote reference numbers.

Current version of Word 2003 (11.5604.5606).

Any suggestions?

Make sure that the Footnote Reference style is defined as Superscript.
