Default word 2007 ruler question

I can't seem to find an option to make the ruler on by default. I'm used to
the old days where the ruler was always around. Help Please?

Default word 2007 ruler question

Select View Ruler from the Menu. The setting should be remembered once
set.

Thanks. I don't know why it wasn't remembering before, but it is now.
