Default Heading Changed To Italics In PDF

I'm using Word 2010. I created a document with a Heading 1 using Arial Black, 26-point, bold. When I saved a copy of the document as a PDF, the headings appear as italics. I experimented with different font sizes and I think that any size of Arial Black, used in a document and when converted to PDF, appears as italics. Has anyone else encountered this quirk? Thanks.
