Default How do I enter a date and then apply automatic date?

I need to be able to type in a date and then apply automatic update to it. I
do not know where to look (I have definitely tried to look). Thank you

keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+D will insert a DATE field in your default
format.

Do you mean you want the date to change every time you open the file? Like
on a memo template?
