If you want to go directly to the File New dialog, find the FileNewDialog
command in Tools | Customize and drag it to the File menu or a toolbar. If
you put it on the menu, you'll need to rename it (it will be labeled
Other...); to do this, right-click and type something else in the Name: box.
If you put it on a toolbar, you'll need to find an icon for it; you can copy
the image from the FileNewDefault button and paste it on the new button
(both those commands are also on the right-click menu).

Hi Curly-

Its tough to give you anything more without knowing which version of Word
you're using, but you might try just clicking the New button on the Standar
Toolbar rather than going to the File menu, or use Ctrl+N.

If he is getting the New Document task pane, he is using Word 2002 or 2003,
but both the New button on the Standard toolbar and Ctrl+N will open a new
Blank Document based on Normal.dot, which I assume is not what he wants.
