Default Cannot change column size

I have inserted a table with three columns. Now I want to change the width of
the columns, but I can't do it with the mouse. I get this mouse pointer
looking like you are able to draw the column border, but when I press and
hold down the mouse button and try to drag the border nothing happens. Why?

How much are you trying to change it by? Sometimes "snap to grid" will bite
you. You can override the grid by pressing Alt while dragging.
