Default Toolbars

In Word 2003, I have a two custom toolbars and an Acrobat toolbar. I
change their layout but every time I open Word they're back to an
arrangement I do not want. I've tried opening Normal.dot and making
the placement change there, but that doesn't work either. Is there a
trick to locking the toolbars the way I want?

You *should* be able to open normal.dot and place the toolbars where you
want. Add a character to the text space, delete it (to create a change that
requires saving) and then save normal.dot. Do note that custom toolbars from
add-ins can conflict when it comes to toolbar placement. - see
