Word Exits on Close?????
Hi,
I have a situation where when a user clicks the close button in Office 2003 running Windows 2000 the Word application closes completely instead of just closing normal.dot. I found a post where the voice recoknition can cause this but it only worked for a few hours. Now the voice reckognition seems to be off and the problem is back. Does anyone know how to solve this for good and what causes it? Any help appreciated. |

If there is only one document open, the button with the white x on a red
background will do that. You need to use the black x (close window) button under that if you want Word to remain open (with no document on the screen). -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. Doug Robbins - Word MVP "Larry Kalpakoff" Larry wrote in message ... Thanks Doug. But this button also closes the entire application. It should
just close the open document and it doesnt. Apparently must be a bug. Anyone else have some other ideas? In Outlook 2003 try the following:
Tools - Options - Mail Format - Untick use Microsoft Office 2003 to edit e-mail messages. Hope this helps. Cheers Mat "Larry Kalpakoff" wrote: Thanks Doug.
