I have a Paragraph style applied to chunk of text. Some full words, and
characters within words, are formatted with italics and / or bold. I apply a Character style to the text within the paragragh. Note the Character style is based on (underlying properties) + GREEN. However, when Character Style is applied, any italic / bold formatting is lost. Is there a way to preserve the bold / italic formatting when applying a character style. The bold / italic formatting is not consitient throughout words so a new charater style with full bold / italics is not viable workaround. You help in resolving this issue is most appreciated. Unfortunately, I suspect not. If a character style is defined as Default
Paragraph Font + Font Color: Green, then it is going to apply formatting based on the DPF. Since neither italics nor boldface are part of the DPF definition, this formatting will be removed. -- Suzanne S.
