I have a colleague who's having a problem creating new hyperlinks in an
existing document with previously created hyperlinks. Some of his existing hyperlinks work, while others have stopped working, even though the documents they link to are still there. When he tries to create a new hyperlink reference and points to an exisiting file, he gets an error message. I have no idea what's causing his problem, but after poking around the documentation came up with these suggestions: --In your original document, go to Tools/Options/Save and see if the box €śDisable features introduced after:€ť is checked. If so, uncheck it. --Check to see if the documents you are attempting to hyperlink to reside on a server with a firewall. --Make sure when you create the hyperlink to select €śExisting File or Web Page€ť in the Insert Hyperlink box. --Open the document youre attempting to link to and go to File/Properties/Summary and see if anything is in the field, €śHyperlink base:€ť If so, try removing it. As you can see, we're grasping at straws here. Would any of these have an effect on existing hyperlinks or the ability to create new ones? Is there anything else we can try? Thanks for your help, Eddie |
