Default Mailmerge labels from Outlook

Using outlook/word 2003 on xp sp1+

starting in outlook and following
http://www.gmayor.com/mailmerge_from_outlook.htm
I find that my 30+ contacts will only generate 1 page of 7*3 labels in
word
hence there's 9+ missing
why does word do this?

I use the all contacts from this view
and when presented with a list to tick or otherwise of the contact
names i delete a few, but there's still 30+, but word only ever gives
me one page (21 contacts)

Help please

mega bad form I know, answering ones own post
but I agree with the msvp in here, the mailmerge in word/outlook is
far too complicated
there was one button out of 15 that I hadn't pressed, now I have all
my contacts on 2 sheets of labels

I always say to myself when something is too complicated
"how would a little old lady handle this?"

obviously, she'd give up

come on MS, make your software easier to use
or eventually you'll get replaced by a competitor

I guess from your second post that you discovered that you hadn't completed
the merge

Default Mailmerge labels from Outlook

This issue crops up every year around Christmas when Joe Public produces his
one and only merge of the year - the Christmas card labels

Microsoft changed the way merge works in Word XP (retained for Word 2003).
This was to attempt to make the job simpler by using a task pane type of
wizard. The general consensus is that for those familiar with Word 2000's
way of doing things, the changes were not an improvement. For this reason I
prepared the article at
http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm which used a label
merge (the most complex of the standard merges) to demonstrate how to master
it.

Mail merge from Outlook creates other problems. You could merge from Word as
above, but this limits your options and recent security considerations have
made the converter harder to use, so the method suggested at
http://www.gmayor.com/mailmerge_from_outlook.htm is the preferred option.

I have not been involved in the beta testing of Word 12 so whether this
will be improved in that version is anyone's guess.

Those who need to use mail merge on a regular basis don't have much trouble
working around the issues. The little old lady and her Christmas card list
can come here for help
