Default Different Headers and Footers throughout Same Document

I am trying to put a Yearbook together for an organization and have been
trying to put in different titles, but as text is added and moved around, the
page titles have to be manually moved around, which is a lot of work, as this
yearbook is constantly changing.

I have finally decided perhaps the best thing to do is to have headers
instead of page titles. This header will change throughout the yearbook.
How do I make that happen?

I have heard that headers can change as Sections change, but I don't know
how to create Sections, and I don't know how to make Headers change as
Sections change. Any and all help GREATLY appreciated.

You create sections by inserting section breaks, but this is not always
necessary; sometimes a StyleRef field is all you need. See
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/StyleRef.htm

If you decide you do need separate sections, see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm for some basic
principles.

Hi Suzanne,

I have now created sections, but there are some pages that I do not wish to
have headers on at all. I "think" I have figured out that if I manually do a
page set up and tell it not to put a header on the first page, if I am
manually on a new page, it will not put a header on that page, but it seems
to have to be manually done on each and every page.

I will check out the link you so kindly gave me.

Thank you so much.

Definitely read http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm to
understand how headers and footers are linked and can be unlinked.
