Default Word 2003 will suddenly change a document to read-only.

It has been happening more and more where the word document I am working on
will change to "read-only" when I click on save. This is when I have been
working on the file, not when I get it and initially save it to my folders.

These are customer documents that are created by different people, from
different locations.

I have already checked and I do not have the "read-only" under "File,
Properties"

If I click "save-as" and click on the "tools" dropdown and click on
"properties", the "read only" box is filled green, it does not have a check
mark. I am not sure what a green filled box means in comparison to a check
mark.

The only way to get around the problem when it suddenly changes to read
only, to save it as another file name such as -1 but eventually it happens
again.

This has happened to me 2 days in a row with 2 different documents.

I have not changed any settings recently.

Also, not sure if it makes a difference but I have the "always create a
backup" checked but like I mentioned, it does not happen with every document
but it is increasing.
