How can i clear the recently opened list of documents viewed under File menu ?

Right Click Start
Select Properties, Start Menu, Customize, Clear List,
OK, OK.
....and there they were, gone

Tools | Options | General. Clear the check box for "Recently used file
list." If you just want to remove a single file, however, press
Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen and click on the filename. Use this cautiously, as the
"terminator hyphen" will remove any menu entry you click on.
