Default why are my connectors grey in word 2003?

I can not seem to access my connectors on the AutoShapes, they are grey.

Default why are my connectors grey in word 2003?

Hi Dave,

For Word 2003 the connectors are only active within a Drawing Canvas
Insert=Picture=New Drawing.
In Powerpoint (where each slide is a canvas) they're always active and you may find it easier to work there for a diagram.
