Possible to embed wav file linked to text instead of icon?
Hi,
I use Word XP and Windows XP. I have a document that contains hard to pronounce names. I would like to embed wave files with the correct pronunciations but I don't like having to use an icon as the clicking object. Is there a way to make the names clickable and linked to the embedded wave files? I have tried converting the names into icons but the results were not as high a quality font as I would like. Thank You, Doug |

You could hyperlink the names to the name WAV files, but you would get a
security warning before playing the sound. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Doug wrote: Hi, I use Word XP and Windows XP. Possible to embed wav file linked to text instead of icon?
Graham,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question! I am going to make this documenmt available as a download to others so it needs to have everything included in one package. I suppose I could have a seperate file available for downloading with all of the individual wave files in it but this would not be as 'clean' a way to do it as having the info embedded. Thanks again, Doug "Graham Mayor" wrote: You could hyperlink the names to the name WAV files, but you would get a security warning before playing the sound. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Doug wrote: Hi, I use Word XP and Windows XP. Why not create a web page of the information?

Yes I thought about this. This would solve the linking problem. I had hoped
for a stand-alone document but this may not be possible (or practical). I don't have a web site but I guess they aren't hard to get these days. Your service provider may offer web space as part of the deal.
