Default Word 2003 won't save symbol shortcuts

This may be the same problem described in several other threads, but then
again, I have no idea.

The Problem: I assign keyboard shortcuts in Word 2003 to the "normal" file.
These shortcuts work as long as I don't close word. If I do close word and
reopen the program, then any shortcuts I have made or any autocorrect
assignments I have made are not functional anymore.

Could this be a similar problem as described in other threads:
"my office word won't save and remember my toolbar settings"
"Word will not save normal.dot"

Please help. This is driving me crazy. The only other integrated program i
am using is endnote 7.0, which is fully functional, and I don't think that is
the problem, but honestly, I don't know.

Thanks for any suggestions or help

If you have Acrobat 7 installed (but I suspect you don't), see the last
section of http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm. Even
if Acrobat is not the problem, the solution (Shift+File | Save All) should
work.

Actually, I forgot to mention that I do have Acrobat 7, and this is the
problem.

Thank you so much for your help, the "save all" function did solve the
problem.

To other readers:
The drop down menu in Word 2003 does not have the "save all" command, but
the icon can be installed into the toolbar by customizing toolbars. (view |
toolbars | customize | file menu)

Thanks again Suzanne, you made my day!

The 'save all' and 'close all' commands appear in the file menu if you hold
the shift key whilst accessing the file menu.

The File menu does have Save All if you press Shift when clicking on File
(which is the meaning of Shift+File | Save All).
