Default New Blank Document Numbering

Hello,

Everytime I open Word 2003, the document number starts from 5, (Document 5).
I want to be able to see Document 1. Even though I don't have any other
word documents open. Can someone explain what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

Delete any orphan files - see
