Dropdown box in "Open" dialog won't.
Not sure whether this is a Word problem or Windows, hence the crosspost.
A client of mine runs Word 2000 on XP Home. When he goes to File-Open and clicks on the arrow next to the box that is labelled "look in", instead of a folder tree showing, nothing happens and Word locks up. can anyone suggest why this is happening and a cure? Has this started occuring lately? It seems some updates recently could be causing this... and it is a cross windows problem, not word See the posts in Windows XP Help and Support group Thanks - I'll have a look. It's strange - I'm fully up to date on all updates on XP Pro and it doesn't happen here! (Word 2003 though.....) |

Go To Add/Remove Programs, click "Show Updates" at top of window then scroll
down to KB908531 and remove it. Now reboot your pc. It seems this update has created many problems. Post you results in this thread for others to see.
