Default The Go To box shouldnt open with only one bookmark item showing.

The drop-down menu showing the top six bookmark items should open
automatically.

Default The Go To box shouldnt open with only one bookmark item showing.

The following fleshes out my bare-bones suggestion below:

In Go To, once Bookmark is clicked on in the left-hand pane, the Bookmark
drop-down menu on the right should open automatically, because the user wants
to view more than one bookmark 90% of the time. I.e., if he has ten
bookmarks, the odds of the right one appearing as the only item showing in
the un-opened bookmark list are only 10%.

I think I understand why this automatic opening wasnt done: the other
options like Caption and so forth in the left-hand menu have a sentence of
guidance-text beneath the drop-down menu on the right. So it may have been
decided that since clicking those left-hand menu items do not open the
right-hand menu, it would be consistent for none of them to do so.

But thats wrong-headed, because in this case, the user wouldnt be puzzled
or misled or irritated by inconsistent behavior. He wouldnt even notice it.
Rather, hed appreciate it that he was given a little guidance-text where
appropriate, even though it required him to make an extra click to open the
right-hand pane. But in a case where no guidance-sentence is needed, i.e.,
for Bookmarks, no extra-click-delay should be imposed, because it buys the
user nothing.

Or there may be some other (mistaken) rationale for the current practice.
