Forms in Word
Does anyone in this group have knowledge of security in Word forms? I need to
be able to fill out a form on my end, e-mail it out to other users but I do not want them to see my dropdowns etc. because they contain sensitive data for other customers. |

Forms in Word
What do you want the recipients to do with what they get from you?
Which version of Word? For you? For your recipients? You can disable or lock certain form fields, you can change it into a non-form document, in Word or a pdf (with separate software). What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian Chapman's series of articles. Security in Word forms is so laughable that it's practically an oxymoron. If a document leaves your hands with sensitive information in it, you've lost control of it. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
