TOC
Is there a way to create a TOC and have Heading 1 not include a page number?
I want to reference the chapter without a page number in the TOC. I know how to use the built in styles to create a TOC but there are not options for each style to leave off a page number. For instance: Heading 1 = Chapter 1 Heading 2 = Topic Heading 3 = Subtopic Example of what I'm looking for: Chapter 1 Viewing Accounts Payable .............................. 1 Transaction Adjustments ............................. 2 Chapter 2 Viewing Group Accounts .................................3 View Group Invoices ....................................4 |

TOC
Hi JS,
You can do this by selecting the point where you want your TOC to go, then pressing Ctrl-F9 to create a pair of field braces (i.e. '{ }') and, between these typing 'TOC \n 1-1 \o 1-3', so that you end up with '{TOC \n 1-1 \o 1-3}', then pressing F9 to update the field. Note: the '1's and '3' in the above coding tells Word to build a TOC starting at heading level 1 and ending at heading level 3. Change to suit your requirements. You could also do this via Insert|Field, but I think the above approach is simpler. Cheers -- macropod [MVP - Microsoft Word] "JS" wrote in message ...
