Default Lost commands under Edit, View, Insert, Format,Tools and Tables

All my documents I've created in Word open without the commands under these
menu items. Yet if I open Word and see Document1 it has all these commands. I
have tried copying a document and resaving without sucess. Everything I open
from my ducoments opens without these commands. I have looked in help. I have
also noticed my customize command under all the toolbar drop downs is shaded.
So I cannot use them. What happened and any ideas how to fix it. HELP.

That link uses the Tool menu drop down, that is something I do not have
available in any of my documents. The document1 has it available, but it
doesn't help with any of the other documents already created. Any other
ideas, I have though it had something to do with the Normal.dot but document1
is based on the normal.dot right? And it is fine. it is like something got
turned off...somewhere. What, where, and how to turn it back on are the
question.

You have not read the entire article, obviously. Moreover, if you are trying
to get to Tools | Customize, there are half a dozen other ways to get to it.
