Default word tables corrupting, then word crashes.

tables and charts first crashed in word perfect and now in microsoft
word-don't know what the problem is...NEED HELP ASAP!

Which version? In Word2003, saving in the new XML format often fixes minor
corruptions.
In older versions, you could try RTF.

If you run into such problems often, there might be something wrong with
your global template, normal.dot.
You could try to rename it (Word will create a new one the next time you
start the application).
If that fixes things, copy any customizations you might have made (code
modules, styles, AutoText) from the old into the new normal.dot.
