Default style conflict for hyperlinks

Word 2002, OL 2002 SP3 - Word as html/rich text editor in OL
Win XP HE SP1

Follow-up to: microsoft.public.outlook

I seem to have a conflict of styles.

I created a style "hyperlink-small" which uses a different, lower size
and color font as the default "Hyperlink" style in Word (default is
Times New Roman, 12 pts, Underlined Blue.)

Whether I create that custom style based on the default "Hyperlink"
where it becomes "Hyperlink+......"; OR I create a brand new style NOT
cascading from default Hyperlink, it does not stick as formatting in my
OL emails' signature, etc., as for some reason, any hyperlink created in
signature seemed to be taken over by the default "hyperlink" i.e. Times
New Roman 12 Pts, etc.

This could be cause perhaps by precedence of Word reading there is a
hyperlink thus should automatically be default hyperlink as opposed to
custom style.

Can that be resolved--by perhaps changing precedence of style, or any
other way?

Tx.

Not sure if/how that affects Outlook, but in Word, you can modify the
built-in Hyperlink and FollowedHyperlink character styles to suit your
needs. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/styl...ifyAStyle.html.
You can transfer the modification to the attached template via the
"Add to template" check box (in the Modify Style dialog box).
