Default alignment changes in same line

I am trying to center an equation with its reference right justified but in
the same line. How can I separate them?

Default alignment changes in same line

Insert a center-tab then a right-tab. Press tab, enter your equation, tab,
reference. Then adjust the tabs till you're happy with the positioning.
