Default Edited documents changing

I have changed the content in a resume`, and now the document is shown inside
of columns and rows. I saved the file as a .html but now I want the changes
to appear as a .doc file without the editing frames. Is there a way to
recover the changed document the way it was intended?

Word's supplied résumé templates are all laid out all using tables, though
the borders and grid lines are usually hidden.
