Default ZIP code problem

Im trying to do a mail merge in Word. The mail database is in Excel.

The ZIP codes are correct in Excel, but when merged into the Word document,
ZIP codes are not correct.

€¢ when they have a leading zero, 08055 becomes 8055
€¢ for Canadian addresses, the ZIP code always becomes 0. It should be
N6L-1A4, for example.

The ZIP codes are formatted as Special, ZIP code in Excel.
