Default Issue of multiple pages of labels running together; no correct page break between label sheets?

The merge I started to do yesterday now works fine with the upper case
needed, etc., but I found that the resulting merges have the labels
all run together. In other words, there is no space at the bottom of
the page. For file folder labels (for example), there are more than
30 labels for page (Avery 5066). The bottom part that should be empty
space has a row of labels there.

I'm guessing there is some sort of code I should put in the last
record of the one-page of labels I made as my main document so that
Word knows to start a new page?

Pls advise and thanks much! I'll be able to easily do up the 5
separate labels needed for the 4 files and hanging file folders for
each employee in our filing cabinet yet only will have to type the
name in once in the Excel data spreadsheet! Forgotten how much merge
could be fun! D

Isn't this the thing we discussed back in May? (Unless there is another
StarGateFan/StarGateFanFromWork duo :-) )

I think we determined that there was sometimes an error in Word' layout
algorithm that added a row, but I don't think I was able to come up with a
solution - perhaps remove/waste a row?

Peter, I thought so but when I googled on my name in this group, nothing
came up. I thought my mind had been playing tricks on me g. Yes, there's
the link. Thanks. Memory is not so good. The good thing is this thread is
now definitely in my Agent newsreader at home, which I just subscribed to
yesterday. So Agent automatically picks up my messages and locks them.
This is a recurring problem for me, obviously, though I had to refresh my
memory by looking at that link.

Wow, going to have to print that message double-sided and study it. Forget
what solution is. But thanks for the link. Cheers. D

I don't think we ever got that far :-( But in it you mentioned there was
other stuff you might need again so I hoped it might spark something!

Amazing. Only by reading it all was I reminded of the original problem to
begin with.

The thing that worked here quite well so far seemed to work back then, I
inserted a SECTION BREAK at the very end of the table. So I have one sheet
of file folder labels filled with the merge fields so that when I click on
the show paragraph marks, all the labels cells are filled. Then at the very
bottom of the lable page we see the ...===== SECTION BREAK (CONTINUOUS)
=====...

The only thing that I had a problem with was that I don't see any "break"
option under the "Insert" pulldown. But my normal.dot file is so very, very
old as I've been carrying it around and modifying the same file since about
6 or 7 years ago now! g But I added it to the merge toolbar menu and was
able to add it to that toolbar with no problem. Just mentioning this in
case someone else has the same problems so that they have a point to start
from.

Thanks! D
