Default Word 2003 resets Windows in Task Bar

I have Word 2003 on WinXP SP2. I've deselcted the Windows in Taskbar option
beaucoup times, yet Word keeps resetting to show windows in the task bar. How
to fix this feature?

The answer to this and your other question seem to be related to minor
corruption of the Settings sub key of the Word Data key in the registry.
Rename the key to (say) OldSettings and restart Word -

key.

I followed the tips and Word is still ignoring the the unchecked Windows in
Taskbar button. Word is also ignoring Display Last 4 Files in the File menu
drop down. Next suggestions?

Okay, still having the problem. Must be another feature to encourage an
upgrade to a bloated piece of software.
